Asura Realm (Aoi Yatoji)

The Asura Realm, sometimes called the Jealous God Realm, is in Buddhism a realm inhabited by powerful beings called Asuras, who are something like a very low form of deva. Although they exist in a realm more pleasurable than humans, they are consumed by envy of the deva, and are prone to wrath, pride and bellicosity. They are described as having three heads with three faces and four to six arms according to some traditions.
